IT'S not something they grow out of. It's the nature of the beast! They don't let go of their retained fluid until they are getting it replaced by soaking again.
: I know that baby tortoises usually pee & poop in the water while drinking. At what age do they stop doing this? I have a Greek & a Hermanns, each about at year old, housed together in a 20"x8' pen that I built Memorial Day weekend. While they were inside, I didn't keep water in their pen but soaked 'em in a pan of lukewarm water every other day. Now they've got all of that room & still poop in & around their water dish. Will they outgrow this trait, or is this something I can look forward to for the next 30 years?
