Nematodes normally occur in fertile soil. I wouldn't worry about it. Some suggest deparasitising their animals once a year but you gotta figure, does this happen in the wild. Now if the little guy is eating normally and passing well formed stools and getting plenty of fiber (grass) I wouldn't worry about it. Don't look at it under a microscope. It would blow you away what they live with.

: I'm aware that wild caught tortoises usually come chocked full of intestinal parasites. Is it safe to assume that captive borns are parasite free? Can they get them from grazing in a backyard? I have a Hermanns that nibbles on all sorts of things whenever I let her graze outside her pen. Today she was eating dirt & gnawing on a piece of churt & this got me to wondering about parasites.
