Hibiscus.....
It's a flowering plant, you can get them at any nursery. I got this one at KMart. $4.99 for a 4" pot, I'm sure you can get them cheaper if you watch for them on sale.

They take bright light, somewhere in your home with a southern exposure, lots of light but not a lot of heat and they can be grown inside at regular home temps. (65-75 deg) (If you put it outside it has to be brought inside during the winter or protected from freezing if you live in a cold area)

They take quite a bit of water, at least the one my mom has does. Let it almost dry out and then water it good.

She's had hers for about 5 years now and it is about 5 feet tall and somewhat bushy, covers an area of probably 4 or 5 square feet. She lives in Idaho and so they probably grow faster and larger in areas of higher humidity. (I think it was in about a 8" pot when she got it?) She keeps it in the house year round.

Sure hope this helps! You can find out more about them if you look up "hibiscus" on one of the search engines, if you need to know more. I'm not an expert on hibiscus :)
