Spider Tortoises

Is any one out there familiar with any of the Spider Tortoises?
I saw some on a price list. Always heard they were hard to keep.

For all you old timers you might remember me. I am the one who runs a Pest Control Company. I also have a four year old Sulcata. His(?) name is moose.He is about nine inches long. He was less than six ayear and a half ago. Is this a good growth rate? Too slow? Too fast? His shell had slight piramiding when I got him. It seems to have started to lessen as he grows.
