It's funny that you mention this. I notice mine are doing the same thing. When I had them outdoors in a 12 x 12 foot enclosure I recall they did the same thing about this time of the year. If you watch them outdoors you will notice that they really travel this time of year. My leopards do the same thing with the added not that they pace the southern side of the yard. I really don't think you could provide enough space to keep them from doing it. I have a friend that has them in a pen about 200 foot square. The grass is totally worn on the fence line.

: Hi, my boyfriend and I have had our 2 Russian torts for almost a year now and just recently (about a week ago) one of them started scratching and digging against the side of their "home" and will only quit when he gets tired. It's like he really wants to get out. He really goes at it in the evening and it is almost non-stop. They live in a very large, clear Rubbermaid tub and he has never acted this way before. Do they need more space? It's odd because it's only the one who is digging all the time, the other tort has never done this. Is this normal or is it something I should be concerned about? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! - Angie
