One of my African Spurred Tortoises laid eggs last night. It started digging about 7 p.m. and finished covering the eggs about 11 p.m. The daily high temp was 107 degrees and daily low temp was 78 degrees. Temp during the evening was probably 90 to 100 degrees.
This is about as late in the year as my African Spurred Tortoises ever lay eggs. (Phoenix area)
I was wondering if breeders in other parts of the country have a longer season or get eggs later in the year. Do you think the key factor is the daily high temp, low temp, or something else?
