: I feed them a variety of dark leaf lettuces, sqaush, carrots, mustard greens, collard greens, frozen thawed veggies, ext.. I put most of them in a food processer and sprinkle vitamins and calcium. Isn't this diet good?

Doesn't sound bad. Sounds like your feeding it more right, then wrong. The Great Giant African Spurred Tortoise has a reputation for growing quite rapidly and it will.

Unfortunately you will need to wait about 5 years until the word BIG is associated with your critter and sounds like you are on track to have a healthy one.

Or you could jam it with animal protein, grow a 25 lb tort in another year (like you see those nippleheads do at the shows) then have the thing explode like a retro eighties space shuttle right in front of your eyes one night, causing BIG tort to make BIG mess...not a friendly thought and even a less friendly cleaning chore.

So relax my friend, and one day soon your testudine will be BIG and a BIG pain in the A**.

Just like mine are:)

Ciao'

Giovanni
