Have yet to find info on bread. I am preparing for a cross country move, most of my stuff is already packed. But I figure I will go ahead and back up my water bowl statements, this is not meant to bash or insult anyone. I have read many of the authors on the subject of tortoises, Highfield, Bartlett, Pirog, and many others. My personal favorite so far is Paull. But I take alot of info and opinions into account before following blindly. So anyway in "Torts of the World" volume 2, Paull says in regards to Pancakes, Egyptians, and Homopus, that "No water dishes should be left in the cages after the tortoises have had half and hours chance to drink at least twice a week..." These are obviously very delicate species, but they share a similar, if not less harsh habitat to G. Sulcata. Paull also says something very similar about Leopards in Volume 8 pg. 59. Needless to say I agree with him. Just thought you guys might be interested in my reasoning.
