It was a pretty miserable time for anyone who needed genuine advice on their tortoises. And it was shut down because rather than agreeing to disagree in an amicable manner, folks chose to be heavy-handed about their postings and made several personal attacks.

It is so easy to be polite. It does take a little more effort to be polite than it does to sling insults, but it is worth it in the end since a safe and civilized forum is the goal, not another shut-down forum. Terry has given polite and good advice to several people for a long time on this forum. I'm sure that you also have some advice to pass along. If advice, ideas and anecdotes can be passed along in an amicable manner, it will benefit all of us as the forum will thus remain open.
