This is an old argument but an important one. The bottom line is that by soaking you are limiting your animal to your schedule. It may not be thursty when you decide to soak it. If it has access to water at all times it can refresh on an as need basis. The idea in this hobby is to give as much control to the animal considering that we are basicly clueless as to what the animal actually needs and when it needs it.

: Or regular soaking. Besides, I already told you Andy Highfield said it was bad idea to leave them constant access to water. Buy his Sulcata and Leaoprd Tortoise video, it says it there as well that constant access to water isn't a good idea. No way would anyone sensible leave water at all times. It can lead to shell disease or fungus or skin fungus or some other disease.
