This thread was concerning sulcatas.
I see you've moved it on to other species now!
I live in Hawaii where most species are banned. So there's no chance of getting a variety of species over here.
I'm very happy with my sulcatas and Russians though.
Although I have also kept redfoots , love water. Leopards, loved the water too especially wading through it!
And I kept a group of C. galbinifrons for a number of years, before sending them to Dr Bonner on the mainland.
Cuora are no longer allowed into Hawaii.
As I only had one male but 5 females(with no chance to import more males)I believed that the C. galbinifrons would be better off in a larger breeding facility.I did petition the Hawaiian board of agriculture to import more males, but they are extremely strict.Once a species is banned, that's it and I was denied the permit.
C. galbinifrons, now there's a sensitive species!!!
Sharon also keeps C. galbinifrons. I agree she is an experienced keeper/breeder. She's had great luck with her Russians these past couple of years.
Whether she keeps a drinking bowl in with her Russians or not I don't know.
I do though!!!
Anyway.
I didn't suggest that the water cured my sulcata!!! LOL.
But neither did it hinder his recovery in anyway.
Terry.
