You can go to this web site to determine the charges based on the zone you are shipping from and to.

Personally when I ship I use a 12 x 12 x 6 insulated box. I think that is up to 5 lbs. Meaning that they charge by dimension. When you consider the animal is shipped from SD to the central shipping station, which I think is in the NE, and that it is basicly not considered a live animal I like to make sure the box is insulated as much as possible to avoid temperature swings.
This usually runs me 40-50 bucks for delivery by the next day by noon. When shipping to major metropolitan areas it is cheaper.

: how much Airborne Exprees charges you? If you ship turtles and use Airborne, drop me an e-mail letting me know the usual box size, weight, and what they charge you. They charge me $25 for a standard box size that weighs up to 10 pounds.
