Age of Sulcata?

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can hazard a guess as to how old this little sulcata, that we just got at a pet store, is? He measures 2 3/4'' long on the bottom (plastron?, right?) and 3 1/2" across the top (carapace?) and weighs in at a whopping 3 oz.
Is this an ok weight for this length?

I'm also wondering how much weight should he be gaining and what is the correct amount of growth in what amount of time. Is there a site with a growth chart for geochelone sulcata?
