That's very good advice! I did that many many years ago at the store where I bought Chanel, always going in and checking on all of the tortoises. The owner and all of the employees grew to really like me. Eventually, I found Angel Baby and her sister Giselle in there starving and dying, and when I approached the manager about it (or reproached is more like it, I was horrified), he felt guilty and just gave me both torts and a set up and lights and apologized and promised not to get more babies in since they couldn't take good care of them. He wished me luck and thanked me for taking them off his hands (for free). He lost money on this of course, but he knew that I was about to invest hundreds of dollars in vet care. A good relationship with a pet store can sometimes motivate them to do the right thing.
