I'm looking into setting up a system for a small tortoise (either Hermanns or Egyptian) for the cooler months here in the NorthEast.
I'm considering using a ceramic heat bulb suspended over one area of the tank, and a UV fluorescent bulb for the entire system. I'll use some kind of thermostat to control the temperature as well.
What is everyone's thought on this? I keep a snake as well (separate enclosure!) with an undertank heater, but I think the ceramic heater will heat the air better than the undertank will.
Thanks for your help,
KeithD
