You basicly get what you pay for. I recomend the active uv heat bulbs. They run about 50 bucks but the uv lasts for up to 2 years. (that's how long mine have been running) So when you consider that they (whoever 'they' are) recomend replacing tubes every 6 months and you have an external heat source it is probably cheaper to lay out the 50 bucks. (and your little charge will definately appreciate it.)

: my baby sulcata's blacklight just went out. it was a 75 watt black heat bulb in a 8inch dome fixture about 12 inches from substrate. im using a regular 60 watt lightbulb for right now. is this okay until i can get to the pet sore this weekend? also, are regular party blacklightbulbs okay to use or should i buy the special one from the pet store? i think the party blacklights are about 75-100 watts. (not sure) also is compressed timothy hay (kind for rabbits) okay to feed my sulcata? i feed him store bought dandelion greens and "spring mix". is it okay to mix timothy hay with other greens? if i put it in as substrate with the bark, and lizard litter (kenaf) will it catch on fire from the heat lamp on it 24hrs a day? i think the heat lamp might be a little too hot and i want to get a thermostat. any brand recommendations that i can get at a local petstore? something fairly good and also not too expensive. PLEASE HELP!!
