I'm not surprised by the fridge idea. In fact, I'm glad to hear someone else mention it, because I was considering getting a small refrigeration unit just for this. I don't see how else I can guarantee maintaining a temp between 32F and 50F as indicated by the Tortoise Trust's guide to safer hibernation.
