: That's about 1/2 inch of growth per scute in 7 months. What have you been feeding the tortoise?
: Ed

Yes it's about that in some area's. In her case I would imagine it probably stems from a few things, one being how malnurished she was when we got her being she was so loaded with worms and had a respiratory infection. She weighed almost 3 lbs in this picture I took when I put her in the back the weekend I had gotten her home.

I'm not positive but she is pushing about 10 lbs now, due in part to her clean up and the fact that during the winter she lived on a diet of turnip greens, endive, romaine, collards, beetgreens, raddichio, italian parsley, escarole, carrot & carrot greens,Orchard grass hay, prickley pear cactus, cactus, watercress, porterhouse steak, boston lettuce,st augustine, bermuda, rye, bahia, fescue grasses, hibuscus leaf & flower(six different)various edbile flowers, clover, red leaf & green leaf lettuce, mazuri(once a month) fig leaf, dianthus, petunia, moss rose, mule ear, burrow tail, cherry rose, rose's.

Belgian endive, bok choy, fennel, celery, mustard greens (they really dont like them too much), mixed salad (minus spinach), Arugula, chives, cilantro,on rotation.

0 suppliements (aside from cuttlebone). I don't supplement any of my tortoise's.

She's spoiled..lol.

P.S. the porterhouse is a joke of course.

Ciao'

Giovanni
