The biggest problem with a tort being inverted is exposure to incorrect temp (like too much heat from the sun). If the tort is being kept at a reasonable temp such as during shipping, it would not be that big of a problem for a short period of time. If kept that way for a substantial period of time, the heart may fail, causing the tort to bleed out from the nose. Since you are asking about it, I doubt he bled out. Hope he is doing alright.
