The big prob is rumers like these have been going on for a while . And as many of us know there are people ( like PETA )that are trying to get the pet industry shut down . So we should still maintane a watchfull eye on groups sush as PETA and the United States Humane Society as well as our government on all levels . If we just sit around and think everthing is going to be allright all the time without keeping our eye's open we may have a rude awakening one day .

: This has proven to be a false rumor (a well as you can 'prove' it on the net). A few members on some other lists who correspond with members of the AZA reported that there is no basis for this rumor. Always try to verify such things before responding.

: : Exotics newsletter For more information contact

: : In the newsletter they informed us that AZA ( American
: : Zoo and Aquarium Association) is planning on
: : announcing an attempt to ban the ownership of all
: : exotics nationwide except to members of AZA and TAOS
: : (The Association of Sanctuaries).
: : They plan on holding a conference in Washington DC on
: : May 21 & 22 to formerly announce their plan to ban
: : private ownership of exotic animals.
: : It is imperative that we contact AZA by mail, email,
: : or phone and register our protests about their plan.
: : There are many thousands of responsible and loving
: : private owners of exotic animals and we should not be
: : forced to give up the animals we love or be blocked
: : when we want to give another exotic animal a loving
: : and permanant home.
: : AZA is a powerful group and we need to have our voices
: : heard in this matter.
: : Please, everyone contact the AZA offices immediately.
: : Time is running out to protect our rights as
: : responsible and caring exotic animal owners!
: : Aza must realize that there are countless intelligent
: : and capable private citizens that are devoted to their
: : exotic pets.
: : It is important that all exotic animal owners contact
: : AZA to record their views on this matter. Every letter
: : counts!
: : We need to secure our rights as private citizens to
: : love and care for our precious animals.
