I own two russian torts and they are great. I keep them in a large 60 gal. terranium and let them out everyday to roam around. They have two kinds of light ...one is for heat which keeps the terranium around 88 -90 degrees and the other is for uvb rays which are essential for tortoises. They get fed every morning an assortment of greens and vegetables( red leaf lettuce, mustard greens, endive, romaine , carrots, squash, and occasional tomato or strawberry as treats). I clean them every week with tepid water and soak them once a week for about 15 min. They must have something to burrow into , preferably about 7-8" deep. I also have a half of a log they can hide in as well. They also need tlc. enjoy your tort!!!
