: I am in need of information about russian tortoises. In particular I am wanting to know their habitat, size, diet, ability to be captive bred, and a good price on a russian tortoise. Also do they hibernate?

: Thanks
Russian tortoises eat romain lettuce, strawberries, apples, and green beans. They aren't very big on water...I don't think they hibernate because they are pets. The temp. they should live in is around 82-88 degrees. They are small. It's shell can lay flat on the palm of your hand with it's little legs hanging off. They don't bite, they only eat veggetation, they like to dig....I got my Russian tortoise "Spanky" for $70.....he's very cute and active. They make great pets because they don't bite and I've only had mine for two days and I love him to pieces. But I don't know about the breeding thing. I hope I helped you out a little.
