In my experience with my healthiest Sulcata baby, Chanel, usually, this was a normal sign of growth.

Only when Angel Baby was little did it signify disaster as she shed most of her skin off, down to the thinnest last layer of epidermis (which she promptly started scratching). However, Angel Baby had been seriously sick for a long time.

If your baby has been healthy up until now, and is showing other signs of growth, then just watch him or her closely and take them to a vet if they seem irritated by this or begin scratching/goughing at their eyes in irritation. You will know if there is a problem because the skin that is new will seem impossibly thin and too fragile, almost see-through.

But sulcata babies often do shed as a normal growth proceedure. Keep us posted!

: i have a baby sulcata hatchling and he has started shedding around his neck and by his tail. it seems like the normal brownish green skin is lightly flaking off and underneath is creamish white skin. is this normal or should i be concerned. please help!!!

: thanks!!
