: My hatchling sulcata somehow got out of the kiddy pool enclosure (Even my larger ones can't get out!!) and wandered over to my dog that is tied up and got bitten into. He has 2 small holes on top and one on the bottom. No visible damage other than that but he seems to be dragging his hind legs a bit too. He is moving around and not lethargic. There is no blood, but where the punctures are, the shell is kinda poking in. What should I do?!?! Is this something that I can take care of without an unnessary vet vist?? I feel horrible!!! Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Barry....as the other two posts st'd...take to the vet NOW. AND never leave them where they can get near the dog or the dog near them. Esther is right about the amount of trouble those sweet little things can get into due to their curiosity, which by the way doesn't go away even as they get larger. Our family had a very tramatic loss several years ago, 12/4, the date will always stick in my memory. We lost a two year old sulcata, our first baby, to the damage our beloved, wouldn't hurt a flea, blk. lab/ gldn retvr did to Jamboa. We learned the hard way, never realized how much the sweetie meant to us. Even at 17 and 40 lbs. out two sulcata's are never is the same vicinity as the dogs without an eagle eye human chaperon. Our male Dalmatian and our male sulcata (40 lbs) love to sun bath in the same spot on the weekend mornings when I'm out with them. They share the space like best of buddies but the dog is always made to come with me when I leave the side of the tort. After my babbling....I sure hope all is well with your hatchling.
