I was recently given a very sick Russian tortoise. He is very letharic and weak. He has a lot of strength in his back legs but cannot move his front legs at all. I started soaking him up to the top of his plastron which seems to be good for his elimination. He looks very dry and keeps his tail curled to one side. He has tried to eat a few greens but doesn't seem to be energetic enough to chew. I am assuming calcium defficiency but not sure. I think he needs to eat but I read that hydration is the main concern before food. I plan on taking him to the vet with my next paycheck but was wondering what to do for him in the meantime. Please e-mail me if you can help. Include tortoise in the subject line or I will not open it. Thank You
