: I'm a little confused. You say that it's a dietary problem..another says its normal and my vet says it's normal as long as her skin isn't red. what am i to believe? if she is missing something in her diet...what?? I feed her reed land tortoise food and mix it with pretty pets box turtle food which i notice she has been choosing more.

: redfoots. It is a dietary problem.

: : : I've had a redfoot for about 2 months now so I'm still learing alot about her. A couple days ago I have noticed that she appears to be shedding on her neck. Is this a normal thing for a tortoise to do?
Yes it is normal for redfoots especially young ones to shed. One other thing to keep in mind though is over supplementation. To much vitamin A can cause a tortoise to prematurely shed it's skin. But if that was the case you would see red or pink skin. It doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about.
God Bless,
Tim
