: I have seen this similar situation. Start now, it is not to late. Send a certified letter stating exactly what the deal "is" and what you expect. Meaning be specific about time frames in which you expect the money or deal to continue. I would give the person 10 days and then follow with a second letter if there is not a response. Most of all you need a PAPER TRAIL and it is not too late for this. If you have a phone conversation you can record it. Only one person has to be aware of the recording and that would be you. This may sound crazy, but this is reality. You must think like these people to beat them.
Be very careful about recording phone calls.. This varies state to state, but in many states, it is illegal to record any conversation without the knowlege of everyone being recorded..
I assume you paid him by check? Make sure you have the cancelled check as evidence that you gave him the money.
