Joe, I would send him a certified letter stating the origional deal the two of you had. In the letter I would ask him to follow through with the deal you had arranged with him. (hard for him to do if he sold the tortoises) I would follow the letter with one or two more phone calls and possibly another letter. If you still have no luck or a similar response from him, take all of your documentation on the origional deal the two of you had, the reciept for the certified letter(s), and your phone record (showing that you repeatedly tried to contact him) down to your local court house and file a lawsuit in small claims court. He will be required to appear in your city for the suit, if he does not show you will be awarded the money....if he shows you will need to convince the judge that he really owes you the $300 because he broke the contract....not much fun, but better than being $300 in the hole.....goodluck and let us know how things turn out
