Competition. Einstine is more agressive than Newton and hence, gets more food. On the pyramiding try using more Calcium carbonate on the food and see what happens.

: well, when I got them they were about 1 to 1.5 inches long and now they are about 6 or 7 inches. Newtons shell is perfectly smooth where Einstine's had a little bit of pyramiding. Also Einstine is about an 1inch bigget than Newton. Any reason why this might be? THx.
