In Reply to: Growth, Sulcata compared to Leopard Tort. posted by ATHENA on April 25, 2001 at 00:52:30:
I have a 3 year old sulcata that is less than a pound and a 4 to 5 year old leopard that is about 1.5 lbs and a 12 year old leopard that is about 3 lbs. So, growth is highly variable. Sulcatas also tend to grow quicker but this is not a given.

: I was in my local pet shop today and saw Leopard tort's for the first time. They had a 5 year old and he was quite large. Much bigger than I expected for 5 years. My question is, will my Sulcata be this size at 5 years? are they comparable in growth? I cant tell you exactly how big the leopard was but I would guess 7-10 lbs.
