agreed, it's just like lots of other animals, hatchling colors are not particularly indicative of adult colors and being born lighter doesn't mean staying that way. The color variants thing is just a scam to get a few extra bucks out of an animal. I like reading those ads and laughing, though. Go get your suchandsuch "phase" tortoise now!
