: Michael,
I had the same question you did a couple months back when I decided to get a tortoise. Much depends on if you want a desert tortoise, or one that requires more humid environments. Have you read anything on Red Footed Tortoises? After reading about several of the commonly kept pet torts, I purchased a hatchling red foot which has been a terrific pet so far! They eventually reach 15-20 pounds and lengths from 12-20 inches, but this takes many years. I know how you feel about the sulcata. I would love one but don't have the space (or the outdoor weather requirements) here in Illinois. Just make sure you read everything you can before you buy! Search the archives of this forum, they are a valuable source of information. Good luck!
Hi,
: I am looking for what kind of tort would be good for me. I currently keep beardies, uromastyx, etc. so what would u recommend? I am looking for one that might get like 10-15 lbs. I would love a sulcata, but those get way too big for me:o)
: thanks,
: Michael
