Hello Michael--
The thread right below this one deals with the same question. As tcc stated, some members of the Testudo genus are good first torts. (You are wise to be concerned about size, because tortoises need a good deal of room in relation to their size). Hermann's, Russians, and Greeks are all a very reasonable size, and are pretty hardy. I have a Hermann's who is wonderful.
Good luck!
Jennifer
: Hi,
: I am looking for what kind of tort would be good for me. I currently keep beardies, uromastyx, etc. so what would u recommend? I am looking for one that might get like 10-15 lbs. I would love a sulcata, but those get way too big for me:o)
: thanks,
: Michael
