Hi there,
Im a pretty private person and come to these forums to learn and help where possible. I don't parade my experience, rehabs, solicit funds, so how would you know?
I have about 12 years collective experience working as a vet tech, managing surgical units, assisting with rehabs like deer, raccoons, skunks, rabbits, cats, dogs, turtles- you name it. Im not set up to or desire to be licensed myself with wildlife in general (I do have to take the rabies vaccinations this area is under a quarantine).
Basically there are no perks to being licensed. No state funding -only some silly laws/ politics in regards to releasing turtles that don't qualify due to the history of where the majority come from anyway. The folks in the wild caught trade who collect these animals & keep them longer then they can keep healthy to sell, wouldnt send them anywhere that they were required to be documented anyway.
What I do in my spare time isn't really a topic for this forum so I wont be posting on this further. However, if you have any enlightening info to share, feel free to call or contact me off list.
I have box turtles up for adoption all the time, so anyone interested with references and a predater proof habitat, should contact me as well.
Have a really good day!
tcc :)
