i need help with my new sulcata

i will be recieving 2 sulcata a pet store via overnite mail . ihave a 4'x4'plywood flor with 18" plexiglass walls. in the floor i cut 3 holes each to hold a bin. 1 very shallow for water one larger for soil and grass and the largest for live plants hopefully. i am wondering if someone can recommend the best source of heat and light hopefully both clip ons ? also what would be the best substrate, i am hoping for something that looks nice also so it will look nice with the live plants ? what kind of plants do i ask for i know they must be pesticide free ?
this whole set up is a suprise for my wife for our 1 year annivesary any recommend reading or info would be so nice . if there is anything else i need please let me know . i have everything above plus 2 digital thermometers. also is it ok to stain and varnish the wood i use or will they eat it . i won't be recieving the sulcatas until april 18 so please help
