I agree that much of the blame falls on certain stores and dealers. Not only for the misinformation on care and diet. But also the care that many of these tortoises recieve, ( or rather don't recieve)while at the store.Not only selling the creatures to a novice without providing correct care info. But even selling ill animals.

Your comments on researching first were not offensive at all. I agree with you.
I didn't research properly , but luckily I found this forum and was offered friendly advise and headed in the right direction.( Thanks Marissa!)

Had I been met with hostility for not researching first , it could have been another story.
