Grape Ivy (Cissus rhombifolia) is listed in most of the sources I've found as "safe" or "mostly safe" for birds, and most other animals, though its sap can sometimes be irritating to humans. The California Turtle and Tortoise club lists it as having unknown positive or negative effect.
With a large variety of other food sources available, I'm not sure I'd rush to feed my sulcata grape ivy, but I guess I wouldn't panic if he ate some on his own, either.
