Hi Catherine,
Over the years I have incubated 1000's of freshwater turtle eggs in home made incubators constructed from a large "Esky"(cooler?), a digital thermostat and a back-up mechanical thermostat
with a fan (to evenly force the air around)and two 40 watt light globes that serve as the heat source. Eggs are placed in see through air tight containers which are half filled with dampened vermiculite.
I can't see that tortoise eggs would vary too much except for the water to vermiculite ratio.
If you need any more info please email me on expansa@bigfoot.com
Regards,
Craig Latta
: HELLO.....I am in the market for an incubator to have on hand for when my torts start laying eggs (should be this year I hope). I have noticed there are "Still-Air" and "Turbo-Fan" types. Which do you recommend?
: Thanks :)
