I had the same problem a few years ago, with my first sulcata.
I used Timothy Hay in her overnight shelter, as the substrate.
She came down with runny nose twice.
The second time my vet suggested removing the hay. I did and have had no problems since.
Even though I changed the hay every couple of days, it quickly became soiled and was dusty too.
I know others use it with no problems, but it didn't work for my sulcatas.
