: : it looks exactly like my tortoise; is it a tetsudo gracea?
:

: Actually he is the Great Giant African Spurred Tortoise (Geochelone Sulcata) of the southern Sahara Desert and central African regions. Third largest tortoise in the known world, largest mainland tortoise in the known world and largest pain in the butt in my backyard..lol.
Large tortoises tend to live longer than other tortoises, i don't know the actual lifespan but i think all tortoises in the world live more than 100 yrs....you must be proud to have such a big tort, i would have liked if my Tetsudo Gracea, grows more than it's actual size right now; right now he's 9 yrs old...i'm taking care of his shell rot, i am glad it's not very serious because only small part of his shell is fructured and has no pus...and it's almost all the time active, and almost never hibernates:) Malta must be very warm for them then :)anyway wish to see more pics of your tort...they are really nice animals and do not give any trouble like cats and dogs would :o)
take care
Girly

: Ciao'
