I did in fact see several pictures of a redfoot jumping (falling) into what looked like a normal depth in-ground backyard pool, and swimming from one side to the other. The pictures certainly didn't look faked, but i suppose anything is possible. Check for yourself at the link below. I have no firsthand experience with redfoots, so i'm not saying you're wrong, just that their natural habitat certainly does contain many streams and bodies of water. Swimming could be a big asset for them, as opposed to Leopard tort habitat where standing water is puddle sized at best.
