Thanks Teresa.
As Baytril can produce an alergic reaction in Leopard and Star tortoises, what is the most common altenative antibiotic prescribed for these species?
I believe that it's Amikacin (sp), is this correct?
Does anybody else have imput?
Terry.

: Hi Terry,
: I have never had any of the Leops on Baytril just to be safe as there are so many other effective meds (and thankfully they are healthy :)
: I did talk to a lady recently whose tort was treated with Baytril as a preventive because it had been exposed to a sick animal- and it was dead inside of twelve hours.
: Its good to have a vet keep tabs on things but I cant imagine giving any meds with out even seeing symptoms.
