reptile heating=dome reflectors and blacklights ASAP!!

if i use one of those dome lights whats the radius of heat each size dome projects? i'm not sure what size dome to buy: 5 1/2, 8 1/2 and 10 inch. i need to know how much heat each dome projects into the cage. also, can a blacklight (nite-glo from hagen, 75 watt) be used all day for heating? i want a bulb that i can use 24 hours what's the best one? red or blue? also, does "blue" mean blacklight? any recommendations?
