It can take a while to think of a name.
Sometimes you look at the tortoise and straight away a name comes to mind.
That's what happened with Angel my first sulcata. She was shipped to us here in Hawaii from the mainland.
She was only around 13" then!

When we opened the shipping crate I exclaimed, " Oh, what an Angel"!
Little did I know, anyway the name stuck.

Then came little Bubba, Bubs or Bubsy for short. It took a few days, but I just started calling him Bubba, then Little Bubba.

Chewie got his name because he chewed his food, instead of just gulping it down. That's changed, but the name stuck!

Then came Hoku, already named that when I got him.

Don't rush a name, or rack your brains trying to think of one. Sooner or later one will come to mind. Get to know the torts personality first.
