i just recieved a baby sulcata as a present and i have him in a 10 gallon glass tank with a closed lid (similar to a fish aquarium cover) with a repti-glo bulb. the substrate is kind of like bark and there is a heating pad underneath the substrate. there is a feeding dish and a water dish (big enough for the sulcata to soak in) and a retreating house (half circle dome shaped wooden house). i feed the sulcata romaine lettuce leaves and carrots on a regular basis and strawberries once a week. i want to know if these conditions are good or if i should change them. i am unable to get weeds and grasses. what is good to feed the sulcata if i can only buy grocery greens and veggies? do i need more heat? should i change the cover to one of those screen type covers? should i buy a heat lamp or more hat pads? what is a good substrate for the sulcata? i am on a low budget so the more inexpensive the better. can someone HELP??
