: COMMENTS PLEASE:
: I AM NURSING BACK TO HEALTH A FLORIDA GOPHER TORTOISE I FOUND IN BAD SHAPE ALONG THE ROAD IN SEPTEMBER...HE SEEMS TO BE DOING WELL-ABOUT THE SIZE OF A GOLF BALL NOW-(I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO MAINTAIN THESE GUYS IN CAPTIVITY, SO I'M KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED)...HERE'S MY QUESTION...DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INSIGHT REGARDING ADDING A BABY BOX TURTLE OR TWO INTO THE GOPHER TORTOISE'S HABITAT...(THEY ARE ABOUT THE SAME SIZE, IF NOT SMALLER THAN THE GOPHER)HARMFUL? HELPFUL? I'M VERY INTERESTED IN ANY INPUT,PLEASE...

I'm not sure where you are located in Florida, but if you can get the baby to C.R.O.W. (Care and Rehabilitation of Wildlife) on Sanibel Island, you won't be disappointed. The organization is unbelievable with full-time vets, experienced rehabers, and volunteers. They release absolutely everything that is capable of being returned to the wild. If not, they provide a lifetime home. Please give them a call if you're not close. They can probably refer you somewhere close.
