: With MBD in tortoises the shell on either side of the second from last central scute lookes as if someone took their thumb and fore finger and squeezed the shell there. The reason is probably that the Pubis bone and the muscles that attach there on the inside of the carapace are stronger than the developing bone. Check out this site for specific locations and terms.
