: I am about to but a Tortoise and would like to know what I am getting into. I am planning on keeping him outside since I live in arizona and was wondering if anyone knows why I wouldnt be able to do this. Also I would like to know what and how much they eat and how messy are they? If he is living outside will i still need to clean the dirt he lives in? Would like to hear from anyone with ideas. Please email me at jtwomley@andrews.edu.
: Thanks

I'm not a sulcatta expert but my advice would be to read everything you can find on them before you purchase one. I would think you could leave them outside year round if you live in the southern part of Arizona If your in Flagstaff I know it gets cold enough there to snow and they couldn't stay out there. Good luck,

Tim
