So once I get the tortoise...what kind of place should I keep him in. I mean, do you know what type of things other than food, that I should have inside the tank with him are?
: Egyptians are delicate. They are not grazers but browsers. That is in the wild they feed mainly on annulars which are the broad leaf weeds that pop up seasonally. There are as many ways to keep these as there are keepers. I personally have had the most success by keeping it simple.
: If you are serious about obtaining these contact me directly. I'll give you a contact to obtain some if you like although Dan Wolf is a good source. Although these tortoises are not easy I know a few people who got into these animals without knowing what they were getting into and have raised animals that actulally look nicer than those produced by some of the more experienced keepers. Again, if you are serious about this, do yourself a favor, contact some of the keepers who have actually kept these. You'll save yourself a great deal of grief.
