Lets talk some sh... poop here. You know when your animals are doing well. During that time period pay close attention to the shape and form of the feces. (kinda gross, I know) Stars are what I call desert type tortoises (kleinmanni, Deserts, Sulcatas) The feces should come out in well formed pellet with no undigested food observable. If this is not the case look at diet first and parasites second (or better yet, at the same time) This should be accompanied by creamy white urates. The better hydrated they are the more fluid the 'white stuff' is. If the white stuff comes out grainy or chunky look at what you are feeding and the level of hydration.

(now I'm gonna grab me some lunch)
: : I have 2 star tortoise and they are fine now.
: : Physical disease can be easily spotted but how about internal disease ? Some people say that tortoise is somewhat vulnerable to worms. Well, how do I know when my tortoise is infected with worms ? Is there any physical sign ?
: As long as your tortoises are healthy have a fecal exam done once or twice a year. That will detect most internal parasites. Good luck,
: Tim
